Born in Bamberg in 1963, Isabel Morland grew up in a literature-loving household. After various freelance arrangements and time spent abroad, she pursued a degree in communications. She later worked as a freelance trainer and coach. She first brought four biological children into this world before dedicating her time to her imaginary children, inspired by her travels, and returning to her original passion of writing. Various extended visits to remote and abandoned Scottish islands inspired her novel series about the fascinating landscape and lifestyle of the people on the Hebrides. While her soul remains rooted in Scotland, she herself lives with her family in her Franconian home. Along with her love of writing, she captures the mood of the landscape through her hobby as a photographer.
